Rockwater Secret Cove Resort

We had king room for a long weekend vacation and got upgraded to the tent. Muyzz was super helpful and friendly in assisting us with checking in and everything. Tubird restaurant was surprisingly good. I highly recommend the bacon and egg croissant.

The location is stunning, but DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU HAVE SCENT OR CLEANER ALLERGIES. Upon entering our room (in the hotel not tent) we were hit with the heaviest smell of overlapping cleaning products that I've ever experienced at a hotel. It seemed to be mainly coming from the floor and bedding. As I have perfume and chemical allergies I reluctantly asked the front desk if they could have the floor mopped again with plain water. They said there is nothing they could do about the scented sheets since they use scented laundry tablets. I woke up the next morning with very red itchy eyes and minor rash, and we had a serious conversation about switching hotels and eating the cost. I had barely slept 3 hours from being so itchy and was pretty angry since this was my first real vacation in many years. We decided to try problem solving more before moving - stripped the bed and draped all the bedding over the railings to air out as much fragrance as possible, rinsed out the pillow cases and then had to keep the dnd sign on the door to ensure bedding wasn't replaced with new. I barely slept night 2 out of anxiety about another night of allergies. It was a bit better so we decided to stay the remaining 2 nights. I had to take allergy medication and consistently use medicated eye drops anytime we spent time in the room (overnight) so honesty we got out as fast as possible every morning and did not really enjoy the hotel. It's unusual these days for hotels to be using such heavily scented products and we will unfortunately not be returning despite the amazing location. Rooms themselves felt dated and sort of unmaintained, for example water damage and evidence of some mould in the bathroom trims. Good things: -the view -restaurant was delicious -good central location for exploring -tent area was very photogenic -free kayaks (although both we borrowed were broken and not adequate safety gear provided) -pool was nice (with a great view) -massages were good

The location is very beautiful! Great view, right on the water. We booked the Sip and Stay package. The Cidery is located about 15 mins from the resort. The hotel booked our reservation at The Bricker Cider Co. Highly reccomend reservations at the restaurant, they can book up quickly.

Do Not stay here. Our experience was horrible to the extreme. My wife cried but we had no other choice since we arrived late. I felt we were scammed. The condition of the furniture in our room was horrible, like it fell off the back of a pickup truck. None of it matched, some of it was broken. The sliding glass door screen to the deck had large holes. The paint in the bathroom to hide dirt didnt match. Our room is not a resort room, it more like a motel in northern BC used by truckers and hunters.Cleanliness was 6/10.I did take photos, but didn’t post. We did not eat there because we figured if they cut corners here, what’s the kitchen like.

Overall a wonderful stay. Beautiful location, friendly staff. Our room in the lodge was a bit tired and the mattress springs were noisy and the bed was quite firm. The lodge seemed dated overall but there were new cabins and tent style cabins along a very unique forest walkway. There is limited parking in front and additional parking is available but not clearly marked. The restaurant is not always open during the week so you have to find dining elsewhere.
